RICHARD F. WILSON, grew up on a farm and received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. He began his career as a Research Plant Physiologist with the USDA at North Carolina State University and retired 32 years later as National Program Leader for Oilseeds and Bioscience. He is a former president of the American Oil Chemists Society and a fellow of the Crop Science Society of America and American Society of Agronomy. In 2006, he received the Secretary's Honor Award from the USDA.
